I'm so excited that this project was featured on Ohdeedoh! See it HERE!
I had seen so many cute felt card table forts on etsy and wanted to make one of my own. My husband bumped it up a notch to make it extra large. He built a rectangular structure that measures about 80"x 40" x 40" using pvc pipe.
My little guy is very into anything having to do with trains so I made two of the sides a train station and the other two a little more girly for when my baby girl is old enough to play in it too. (Yes, I know, I still need to add the hands to his clock...one of the things still needing to be finished.
If you are thinking of making one of these for your own kiddos this is a little TIP for you! USE CLEAR THREAD! It saved me from having to match threads and change out my threads every time I wanted to sew a different color felt. Changing my thread and threading new bobbins is probably my least favorite thing about sewing.
Can you tell my little guy loves it?

oh my goodness! LOVE IT! My favorite favorite FAVORITE part is the little yellow bicycle. Just darling! Great job, Becca!
I LOVE IT! I saw those super cute card table play houses and have totally been wanting a bigger version as well. Great job!
came out so cute! you are on a roll lately! loving all your sewing projects!
Wow. Just Wow. This is one of those things your son will be scavenging the attic for when he's expecting his own kids. Great Job!
I really want to try out something like this too. Great idea about using clear thread! I hate changing colours too. Found you on Ohdeedoh. Now I am off to see what other things you have been creating and making. :-)
Absolutely wonderful job! Playful and lovely. Congratulations - you should be proud!
This is fantastic! Would you mind sharing how you make the windows 'stable'? I want to try something like this myself but I'm worried the central 'wooden' parts of the windows will just be floppy?
Seriously?? This is an amazing project! I am kind of drooling over your creativity.
This is so awesome!! Makes ME wanna go in there, too! Could you show us the PVC frame structure that you made to make it stable? Great job!!
