It's been a while...

Yes, I am still alive! Wow, I can't believe it has really been 4 months since my last post on here! Before you judge me lazy and totally disconnected let me explain myself. Back in May I discovered I was pregnant with our second child two days before my husband's birthday! Hooray! So, my son and I surprised him on his birthday telling him we were going to have another addition to our little family! My due date is March 2nd and we will find out the gender on October 13th! We're SO excited!!!

Anyhow, my horrible morning sickness started with a BANG! the morning of 4th of July and for about 8 weeks I was sick as a dog! So, I have spent the last four months sick and then recovering from being a hermit for so long. It has been horrible being sick, but I am not feeling a lot better and actually beginning to enjoy being pregnant again. Although, it is definitely more tiring this time around since I am chasing toddler everyday. Here I am at 12 weeks!

I did manage to do a few crafty things in the last four months. Here is a peek at what I have been up to.

A card for my husband's birthday.

One quick layout with photo's that should have been put on a page long ago!

And my first attempts at embroidering and sewing any kind of children's clothing! These were made as gifts for two very special little boys!

And here's the cute tag I made to wrap up the second jacket.

What do you think? I guess I haven't been totally lazy the last few months! Thanks for come back to visit me! Check back tomorrow for a little giveaway I am doing in celebration of my returning to the blogging world!

Back from the dead, a GIVEAWAY, & 2S4Y!

Hello All!  Wow, it has been a long time since I've been around this here blog of mine!  The last two weeks have been really crazy for our family!  First we took a road trip out to Utah to visit my husband's parents and attend one of my best friend's weddings.  Ethan did amazing in the car!  Hardly any crying with the help of a portable DVD player and a goodie bag full of nic-nac's from the dollar store.  Pretty good for a 13 month old in the car for 10+ hours.  Anyway, our trip was a blast, but the day we got home Ethan got the flu.  He proceeded to  pass it on to both my husband and I as well as the rest of our family here.  Needless to say, we have been recovering for the past week and yesterday was the first day I felt like I was coming back from the dead.

These pictures of are of a couple flowers that were blooming in my mother-in-law's backyard.  That is one thing I miss about springtime in Utah...the flowers are beginning to bloom even amidst a few snow storms.

Enough about what has been going on around here...I have some exciting news!!!  Today I want to do my first GIVEAWAY!!!  As I mentioned in my previous post two weeks ago (gosh, has it been that long!), my first cards came out in publication!  To celebrate this fun occasion for myself I am going to GIVE AWAY ONE COPY of EACH MAGAZINE I have been  published in!

Paradise

We have had a of couple really warm, beautiful days here lately and I LOVE it!  I have realized lately that I am just kind of sick of winter!  Mixed in the with those warm days has been really cold, rainy days.  Just a sign that spring is coming and then summer! I can't wait to lay in the warmth of the sun and take refreshing dips in the pool.  Anyway, in light of how I am feeling about our changing seasons I decided to pull out some fun supplies and whip up some summer cards!

I made this card using Laura's sketch over at 2S4Y.  The flowers are cut from some K & Company Paper and the stamp is one of my favorites from CTMH.  It is a super simple card with very few supplies needed.  Gotta love that!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Friday!  I hope to be back more this weekend to share the rest of my summer cards with you!

Here is a little something I have been wanting to make for about a year!  It's a little mini album with pictures that my best friend Ellie took of us at the hospital the day our son was born!  I absolutely love these pictures and I am soooo glad she brought her camera that day!  Thanks again Ellie!  Enjoy!

I'm back...

For the most part we are settled into our new house.  I still have a little organizing and A LOT of cleaning to do but our internet is  hooked up and my scraproom is somewhat organized (I'll show photos once it is finished.  It is the only room we have painted in the house so far and I am really happy with the colors!  I am hoping that I will be able to start creating a few new projects here soon but this week I am going to be busy planning our son's first birthday party.  I will post pictures soon of the invitations I sent out and the little party favors I am making using recycled baby food jars.  We have lots of family coming into town for the celebration...it should be fun!

Here is a page that I created before we moved.  This was the picture I used on our Christmas card this year!  The photo was taken by my amazingly talented photog friend Ellie Grover!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!

Love Birds

Well, I guess I can't get enough of these cute love birds by Kim Hughes!  Here is another card I used them on!

Just wanted to let you know I may be a bit of a ghost here on my blog over the next couple of weeks!  My husband and I decided this past weekend that we are going to be moving in TWO WEEKS!  So, needless to say I have a lot to do over the next couple weeks with packing and planning our son's 1st birthday party!  I will try to stop by here and show you a few things I have been working on, but hopefully I will be back going strong once we get settled.  We are moving out of our little two bedroom apartment into a 3 bedroom house with a pool!  Which means I will have MY OWN SCRAP-ROOM!  Well, at least until another baby comes along.  :)

A little present for a little girl...

So, here is the first of a couple Christmas presents that I made this year.  I figure I can show you this one because I already gave it to her.  :)  I made this little counting book for a dear friend of mine's daughter.  Isn't she adorable?  I think her favorite part was that her  picture was on the front.  I used a cardboard kids book I picked up for a $1 and used some old/retired papers and cardstock from CTMH along with my cricut.  It was a super easy, quick but cute gift!
